Dear All It was a great experience for me working with you in Brno in many different ways. It was also special for me that Katie wrote a long piece about what happened on Thursday. This is a unique kind of documentation. And she is a good writer. It would be very good to add to her writing by all of us answering a few questions about our experience of Thursday and of the workshop as a whole. Here are three questions which I would appreciate you answering. I have answered each question from my point of view. QUESTION 1: WHAT ARE YOUR MEMORIES, RECOLLECTIONS AND IMAGES OF YOUR OWN CONTRIBUTION TO THURSDAY’S EVENT? Catching a falling leaf. Having an impromptu lunch on the rubbish bin. Receiving a drawing from the other professor on the other side of the park, handed to me by a stranger who was confused. Trying to reassure a lady with a pram that Liboreq was OK and then joining her in singing to the baby in her pram.Walking very fast across the grass. Being invisible for a long time to the security guard at the Alfa Passage. QUESTION 2: WHAT ARE YOUR MEMORIES, RECOLLECTIONS AND IMAGES OF OTHER PEOPLE’S CONTRIBUTIONS TO THURSDAY’S EVENT? Finding Tomas behind a small tree. Hearing Iris singing from a large tree a long way away. Liboreq falling asleep in the leaves behind the fountain. Honza running from the police. Annette’s hooded subtle sensory wandering. Martina, Rebecca and Rhiannon’s durational hug in the right place in Alfa Passage and its emotional content, especially as it went on for such a long time and slowly collapsed. People in the café responding positively to the hug. The rebellion of Honza and Liboreq on the very edge of the Passage, where the security guard had no control. Jennifer’s subtle, almost invisible, performative response in the pub to Katie’s text/instructions. QUESTION 3: DO YOU HAVE ANY RESPONSES TO, OR REMEMBERED IMAGES FROM, THE WORKSHOP AS A WHOLE? The dream-like state of experimentation and improvisation we were in on three occasions: the silent walk, in the Atrium and in the City. Realising the role that Katie could play in the workshop and my excitement when I saw how much she was writing and how I had not worked with a writer in this way before. Working with all of you in the state of trust and support that I try to achieve in workshops. That I was able to communicate well with you, despite my lack of the Czech language. Meeting all of you in different ways, so each communication was unique. Enjoying very much the Atelier, the Academy as a whole and the cultural uniqueness of Brno.
